The role

This company is automating SOX audit testing, replacing manual work with fully agentic AI. They're tackling a critical, traditionally manual process in a massive industry. Backed by leading investors, they're expanding their founding team.

As a Founding Engineer, you'll own the core product end-to-end: from data processing and UI to the agent harness and deployment. This isn't a siloed role or pure research; you'll scope, build, and launch features that directly replace manual audit work, shaping the product roadmap alongside the founders. Expect deep ownership and direct customer interaction, not just coding to spec.

The work

• Design, build, and launch the full stack of features for an AI-powered audit product, from evidence management to auditable decision logs.
• Develop and scale the agent harness, data processing pipelines, and user interfaces that enable end-to-end automation.
• Drive product direction and roadmap decisions, balancing customer needs with long-term system health.
• Iterate rapidly on core features, deploying proven engineering methods over novel approaches for their own sake.
• Engage directly with early customers to gather feedback and ensure product-market fit.
  
  

What You Bring

• You've built, launched, and scaled production systems, demonstrating a track record of shipping.
• Experience developing AI-driven solutions, understanding how to push model capabilities while maintaining engineering pragmatism.
• You thrive in ambiguity, taking end-to-end ownership of complex problems with minimal guidance.
• Comfortable being client-facing and translating user needs into technical solutions.
• Willingness to relocate to San Francisco by Fall 2026 and work in person. Visa support is provided.
