Member of Technical Staff / Full-Stack Engineer (Python + React)

💰 $150,000 - $215,000 Base + Significant Equity

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-funded AI startup building infrastructure that helps evaluate and benchmark large language models (LLMs) across a variety of real-world domains. Backed by leading investors and founded by researchers and engineers from top institutions and technology companies, the team is focused on solving challenging technical problems at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and scalable systems.

They are looking for a highly capable software engineer with 2-6 years of experience who enjoys working across the stack and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and platform infrastructure using Python
• Develop frontend features and internal tools using React and TypeScript
• Design and implement systems that support large-scale AI evaluations and benchmarking workflows
• Work closely with research and engineering teams to translate open-ended problems into production-ready solutions
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment

What We're Looking For

• 2-6 years of software engineering experience
• Strong production experience with Python
• Experience building frontend applications using React and TypeScript
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and ship meaningful technical projects
• Experience at a high-growth startup, top technology company, or as a founder is highly valued
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from a strong engineering program preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI infrastructure, ML platforms, or developer tools
• Startup or founding engineer experience
• Experience building products from 0-to-1
• Exposure to Django, Kubernetes, distributed systems, or cloud-native architectures
