GENERAL MANAGER – TAYLOR'S BAR & BEER GARDEN, GALWAY CITY

Taylor's Bar & Beer Garden is looking for an experienced, energetic and commercially focused General Manager to lead our team in the heart of Galway’s Westend. Taylor's Bar operates as a 7 day licenced premises with a full kitchen and operates as a late bar at weekends.

This is a senior, hands-on management role for someone who understands what makes a great bar tick — excellent service, a strong team, a great atmosphere and tight control of the numbers.

The Role

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of Taylor's, including:

• Leading, motivating and developing our management and bar teams
• Maintaining consistently high standards of customer service
• Managing staffing levels, rosters, recruitment and training
• Driving sales and identifying opportunities to grow the business
• Managing wage costs, stock, margins and other key operational costs
• Overseeing stock control, purchasing and supplier relationships
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation and maintenance
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety and other regulatory requirements
• Working with the owners to develop events, promotions and the continued growth of the business
• Creating a positive, professional and enjoyable working environment for the team

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong management experience in a busy bar & restaurant or similar hospitality environment
• Is confident leading a large team in a busy operation
• Has a strong commercial understanding of sales, margins, labour(Alkimii) and stock control across F&B
• Is organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility
• Has excellent people and communication skills
• Understands the importance of both great hospitality and good financial management
• Is willing to be present on the floor and lead from the front
• Enjoys the atmosphere and pace of a busy Galway bar

Experience at General Manager level is preferred, although we would also be interested in speaking with an experienced Assistant General Manager or Bar Manager ready to take the next step.
