Job Description Summary We are seeking a Blade Monitoring Leader to drive the strategy, governance, and technical integrity of our global wind turbine blade fleet. In this role, you will define fleet-wide inspection standards, oversee the end-to-end disposition process, and collaborate with engineering and digital teams to integrate advanced diagnostic tools. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality data analysis, managing critical defect escalations, and spearheading the innovation roadmap for structural health management. The ideal candidate will blend deep technical blade expertise with a passion for operational excellence and digital transformation to minimize risk and optimize fleet performance. Job Description Blade Monitoring leader: Roles & responsibilities Strategy & Standardization Own and maintain the Global Blade Disposition Data for all core fleet turbines/ blades Establish technical specifications for all inspection modalities (e.g., drone flight path density, sensor sampling rates, minimum image resolution). Define the "Acceptance Criteria" for all diagnostic and visual data submitted by site teams or third-party contractors. Partner with Blade engineering, Digital team, Mechanical, electrical monitoring teams to develop integrated fleet monitoring view, data base for every operating units in core fleet. Own execution of any blade analytics tools & provide standard dispositions to any analytics findings Partner with Data & analytics leader to ensure LAT, false positives, negatives for any fleet analytics tools used to monitor blades Engineering & Technical Integration Serve as the primary liaison between the monitoring team and Blade Engineering to translate fleet trends into design or manufacturing feedback. Validate that all dispositions are aligned with standard disposition criteria underwritten by blade engineering Partner with blade fleet engineering leader to review complex or outlier defects that fall outside of pre-defined disposition guidelines. Partner with blade fleet engineering leader to define emerging issues priorities. Operational Oversight & Governance Oversee the end-to-end workflow of core fleet blades, ensuring every inspection is captured, analyzed, and dispositioned within defined underwritten criteria’s. Execute quality audits on a statistically significant sample of inspection data to ensure compliance with global imaging and reporting standards. Manage the escalation process for critical findings that require immediate operational intervention (e.g., turbine shutdown or power derating). Maintain real-time visibility dashboards for Fleet Performance Leaders, showing individual blade health, repair status, and total fleet risk. Innovation & Roadmap Define the requirements for new diagnostic tools, including AI-driven image recognition, automated data processing, and remote sensing technologies. Lead pilot programs to test and validate new monitoring technologies before fleet-wide deployment. Continuously evolve the "Monitoring Roadmap" to incorporate emerging best practices in wind turbine structural health management Basic qualification Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Materials Engineering. 10+ years of professional experience in wind turbine engineering, structural health monitoring, or a closely related field. Minimum of 3+ years in a people management or team leadership role, with a proven ability to mentor technical staff and drive cross-functional results. Strong background in wind turbine design, composite/structures material behavior, and root cause analysis of field defects. Experience managing large-scale technical datasets, inspection software, and implementing digital diagnostic or monitoring tools. Proven ability to bridge the gap between complex engineering concepts and operational business strategy for senior stakeholders. Desired Qualification Demonstrated experience working with AI-driven image recognition, machine learning models, or predictive analytics tools applied to structural health monitoring. Experience partnering with digital/software teams to design or optimize enterprise-level asset management systems or real-time performance dashboards. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,400.00 and $254,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
