Ready to Make a Difference? The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, a nonprofit civil legal services program, is seeking a Grants Manager. Legal Aid's mission is to fight for fairness, dignity, and justice for those living in poverty and for a society that is inclusive and equitable for all. Our service area spans sixteen counties, in upstate New York, encompassing six regional offices. This position is based out of our Albany Office . About the Role The Grants Manager will lead and support LASNNY's grant-related initiatives. Th is role works collaborat iv e ly with various stakeholders to identify , collect, and analyze data from multiple sources to ensure the successful submission of grant applications and the timely completion of reports for LASNNY's diverse funding portfolio. Additionally, the Grants Manager will serve as an administrator for Legal Server, LASNNY's case management and d ata rep orting system. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, intellectually curious , and a self -starter . They will bring strong project management expertise , experience with case management or database reporting, exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the grant application and reporting process by identifying requirements, assigning responsibilities, and managing the collection, organization, and submission of information from multiple stakeholders and data systems. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data included in grant proposals, reports, and other funder-required submissions. Maintain a comprehensive database of current grants and required submissions, grant applications and outcomes, and grant opportunities. Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, community partners, funding agencies, and grantor representatives. Serve as a system administrator for LASNNY's case management system, LegalServer , including user support, system configuration, and maintenance. Identify and implement opportunities to improv e data collection , reporting processes , grant administration practices, and operational efficiency . Regularly evaluate organizational needs and system functionality to ensure Legal Server is effectively maintained , supports staff workflows, and captures all data required for grant compliance and reporting . Skills and Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (e.g., Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration). Five or more years of experience in grants management, grant administration, nonprofit operations, compliance, data management, or a related field. Experience coordinating grant applications and reports, preferably for government, foundation, or legal services funders. Experience working with databases or case management systems; LegalServer experience preferred. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity. Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. High level of experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and using Teams collaboratively , as well as the ability to learn and administer software systems . Exceptional written and verbal communication skills . Ability to build relationships and work effectively with staff, funders, and community partners. Collaborative, team-oriented work style with ability to work independently . Commitment to LASNNY's missions and values . Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience working for civil legal services or related human services not for profits . Work Environment This position operates in a professional law office environment and occasionally may require the carrying of regular office supplies. This role requires the use of standard office equipment and software and remote videoconferencing platforms.
