Head of Credit Risk (SME Lending)

Location: Remote during onboarding → Full relocation to Dubai (full relocation package provided)

SimplyFi is a fintech company building a digital lending platform for small and medium-sized businesses in the UAE.

We are a technology company registered in DIFC. Financing is provided through a dedicated SME credit fund regulated by the UAE Capital Markets Authority (CMA). Our products include e-commerce seller financing and invoice financing, powered by data-driven underwriting that enables credit decisions in hours rather than weeks.

We are currently launching our platform in the UAE, with expansion into Saudi Arabia planned as the next stage of growth.

Working closely with the CEO, Product and Engineering teams, you will help build a modern AI-driven lending platform for SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the credit analysis and underwriting process for SME lending.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis, cash flow modelling, bank statement analysis and credit transaction structuring.
• Develop and continuously enhance credit policies, underwriting standards, lending limits and risk appetite.
• Present credit proposals to the Credit Committee.
• Develop portfolio monitoring, concentration risk controls and early warning indicators.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to automate underwriting processes, decision rules and credit scoring models.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in SME Credit Risk or Commercial Lending within a bank, fintech or microfinance institution, with hands-on experience across the full credit lifecycle (beyond guarantees or factoring).
• Proven experience in digital SME lending or microfinance, with direct ownership of developing credit policies, underwriting procedures and credit regulations—not just contributing to them.
• Experience leading a team or owning a credit risk function.
• Strong SME financial modelling, structured credit analysis and advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent Russian (the working language of the Credit team) and professional English (B1).
