Rooms Assistant Manager We are looking for a Hotel Assistant Manager who will support the overall operations of the Rooms Department at the Four Seasons Minneapolis. This person will have leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills, and be able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, and can evidence having a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service. Prior experience in a luxury hotel is preferred, with experience in either Housekeeping or Front Office Operations. Basic Purpose : The Hotel Assistant Manager will manage shifts between Housekeeping, Laundry, and Front Office positions. This position may be responsible for working overnight shifts, where there may be a need. Essential Functions : Rotates between managing a Housekeeping Team, Laundry Team, or Front Desk team based on business needs. (10%) While overseeing Front Office Shifts (35%): Coordinates arrivals, departures and billing requirements with Sales and Catering Department. Blocks rooms for arrivals and ensures any discrepancies are resolved. Reviews daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of Special Attention Guests, Return Guests, and Groups. Assures that all financial and credit procedures are followed. Follows up on credit problems with Front Office Manager and/or Credit Manager. Reviews all paid-outs, rebates, Petty Cash disbursements and Direct Billings. Checks cashiers’ work at end of shift to ensure all transactions are reconciled with proper approvals and endorsements. Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well being of hotel guests and employees when senior managers are not available. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation. Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone. Checks guest in and out in an efficient and friendly manner while ensuring all arrival and departure processes and standards are met Utilizes a variety of computer systems to check guests in and out, run daily reports and select and block rooms for arriving guests. Accepts reservations, changes and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff. Can answer guest calls and direct them appropriately in the absence of a Communications Operator. Monitors the performance of House Attendants. Assures that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors. Checks cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets. ​While overseeing Housekeeping & Laundry Shifts (35%): Manages a team of Room Attendants and House Attendants responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed. Ensures daily workload for the Guestroom team is completed to standard. When standards are missed or not met, ensure proper follow-up, coaching, and correction. Monitors the performance of House Attendants. Assures that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors. Checks cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets. Complies with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact. (10%) Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
