Position Summary The HR Generalist is a hands-on Human Resources professional who will support day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle. The role provides broad exposure to payroll, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HR systems, reporting, and process improvement. This position is designed for a true generalist who is comfortable moving between priorities, handling detailed administrative work, and independently resolving routine HR matters in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR Manager and partner with employees and leaders across the organization. Key Responsibilities · Support accurate and timely payroll processing, including employee changes, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, audits, and payroll-related reporting. · Assist with benefits administration, eligibility, enrollment, employee communications, billing review, and coordination with benefit vendors. · Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer documentation, background checks, and pre-employment requirements. · Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation and help ensure required documentation, systems access, and departmental activities are completed. · Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HR and payroll systems and conduct routine data audits. · Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on HR processes, benefits, payroll, policies, and workplace matters, escalating concerns when appropriate. · Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, investigations, corrective action, and manager support under the direction of the HR Manager. · Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, including wage and hour, leave, unemployment, workers’ compensation, and required reporting. · Assist with performance management, compensation administration, workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention initiatives. · Prepare HR metrics, reports, presentations, and workforce data for leadership. · Help develop, document, and improve scalable HR procedures, checklists, templates, and internal controls. · Participate in special projects and perform other HR duties as business needs evolve. Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. · Minimum of three to five years of progressive, broad-based Human Resources experience; five years is preferred. · At least one active professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or another recognized HR credential. · Demonstrated experience in multiple HR disciplines, including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance. · Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and sound judgment regarding when to escalate legal or employee-relations issues. · Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, follow-through, and ability to manage competing deadlines. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build credibility with employees and leaders. · Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS, payroll, applicant-tracking, or benefits-administration systems. Preferred Qualifications · Experience supporting a nuclear, engineering, information technology, energy, aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical organization. · Experience in a startup, high-growth, or rapidly changing business environment. · Experience with ADP payroll products or comparable payroll and HR platforms. · Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employee populations. · Exposure to compensation, HR analytics, organizational development, or policy and procedure development. Compensation Base salary: $75,000.00 AMPERA also offers a comprehensive benefits package, participation in the Company’s equity program through Incentive Stock Options (ISOs), and relocation assistance for qualified candidates, where applicable.
