We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Human Resources Officer to join our onsite HR team at Capcoal Open Cut Mine. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced and dynamic role, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy operational environment and enjoys building strong connections with employees and leaders. As an integral part of our onsite HR team, you’ll provide support across the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding, through to payroll, performance management, reporting and day‑to‑day guidance on HR matters. As the Human Resources Officer your key responsibilities include: Provide HR advice to employees and leaders in all aspects of Human Resources, supporting effective delivery of the business Maintain HR systems and records, with accuracy and compliance to HR policies, procedures, industrial agreements and legislative requirements Support end to end HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, performance, and absence management Timely and accurate processing of payroll activities, including data entry, adjustments, and resolving payroll-related queries Build strong, collaborative relationships across the workforce and leadership team Deliver timely HR reporting including absence management, performance reviews and adhoc reports Provide frontline HR support for walk in employee enquiries The key attributes contributing to your success in this role will include: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline (desirable) Have experience working in mining, heavy industry, or construction (desirable) Resilient nature, openness for change and demonstrated ability to drive best practice Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines & plan ahead Ability to prioritise workload and work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills SAP and excel experience are highly regarded Full-time, permanent role at Capcoal Mine, Middlemount QLD Monday to Friday role, with 9-day fortnight or work from home options available Competitive Salary + Annual Bonus + 12% Superannuation Residential, FIFO (Company funded) and DIDO options Relocation support and subsidised accommodation in Middlemount available Discounted gym membership Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) What we offer When you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package and a range of flexible work arrangements that support the balance of work, family and individual circumstances.
