Mills Recruitment is partnering with an engineering company supporting major data centre projects, to recruit an experienced HVAC Engineer specialising in testing and commissioning of critical cooling systems, to be based at data center project in Banting (Selangor), Malaysia

Take the lead in testing and commissioning HVAC systems for critical data center environments, ensuring performance meets design requirements while maintaining precise temperature, humidity, airflow, and cooling standards.

What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of data center HVAC systems to verify operational performance against design requirements.
• Conduct temperature, humidity, airflow, pressure, and cooling load testing, including performance verification and airflow distribution analysis.
• Diagnose HVAC system issues, recommend corrective actions, and support system optimization initiatives.
• Prepare testing plans, schedules, technical reports, and data analysis documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful system integration, final verification, and acceptance.
  
  

Who We Are Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in HVAC, Building Environment and Equipment Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Thermophysics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC systems testing and commissioning.
• Experience with HVAC systems in data centers or high-precision computer room environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with data center standards such as TIA-942 and GB50174.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.
  
  

Skills and Attributes

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including precision air conditioners, AHUs, cooling towers, fan coil units, and dehumidification systems.
• Proficient in using testing instruments such as anemometers, airflow meters, pressure sensors, and temperature and humidity recorders.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis capabilities.
• Effective report writing and technical documentation skills.
• Detail-oriented team player with the ability to perform in fast-paced site environments.
