Project Overview: Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Job Summary: The I&C Commissioning and Startup (CSU) Engineer will assist in the technical direction and oversight during the start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems, control valves, and instrumentation in a semiconductor manufacturing facility. In this role you will assist in the planning and execution of commissioning activities from construction completion through system handover to operations, ensuring work is performed safely and on schedule. The role ensures systems are installed correctly, meet design requirements, operate safely, and are ready for operations. This position works closely with engineering, construction, vendors, subcontractors, and operations teams to verify control and instrumentation systems meet all requirements. #LI-AA1 Collaborate: Actively seeks out others’ opinions and input and is open-minded to their views. Major Responsibilities: General Supports basic Startup Specialist duties of installation configuration validation, and work package development Work Planning & Packaging Supports planning and scheduling of CSU activities for assigned areas of responsibility and/or assists more senior Startup Specialists with planning CSU activities and methods Supports with preparation of Startup Work Packages and Test Work Packages for assigned areas of responsibility and/or assists more senior Startup Specialists with preparation of Startup Work Packages and Test Work Packages Turnover Coordination Supports Construction to CSU turnover walkdowns for assigned areas of responsibility Interfaces with the Field Engineer as required to support component/system turnover Material Mgmt. & Quantities Provides support on drafting contract change notices and amendments, extra work orders, and back charge notices as assigned Provides support on quantity tracking systems or other database systems as required Quality Control Provides support on walkdowns to validate that the system configuration is in accordance with the design Supports monitoring of testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications and compliance with test procedures ES&H Provides support on the identification and elevation of ES&H issues in the field and is a visible 'walk the talk' leader in good ES&H practices Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related discipline with less than 1 year of relevant experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience in mission critical facilities. Required Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, Network Drawings and Schematics, Instrumentation Data Sheets and Calibration Records, and Control Valve Vendor Drawings. Knowledge of various control systems and equipment to include Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Building Management Systems (BMS), Life Safety Systems (LSS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Control Valves, Instruments, and Transmitters.
