About The Role
As an ICU Registrar, you will provide 24/7 onsite medical care, assessment and coordination of patients within the ICU and HDU, working across both hospital sites as required.
You'll be supported by experienced Intensivists and multidisciplinary teams committed to exceptional patient care, education and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care and clinical support within the ICU.
- Coordinate ICU admissions and discharges with the Nurse in Charge.
- Participate in the ICU roster, including after-hours and on-call commitments.
- Work collaboratively with Intensivists, nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to teaching, supervision and the ongoing development of junior clinicians.
What You Bring
You are a motivated clinician committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate critical care while continuing to develop your specialist skills.
To be successful, you will have:
- Demonstrated ICU experience providing high-quality patient care.
- Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills in busy clinical environments.
- A commitment to teaching and supervising medical, nursing and allied health staff.
- Appropriate medical qualifications and current AHPRA registration, or eligibility for full AHPRA registration within 12 months.
- PGY3 or above, with a minimum of 6 months' ICU experience and 12 months' anaesthetic training prior to commencement.
International Medical Graduates Welcome
Applications are encouraged from International Medical Graduates (IMGs) from Competent Authority countries and other countries with comparable healthcare systems, subject to the appropriate AHPRA registration pathway.

Calvary Adelaide Hospital, opened in 2020, is South Australia's largest private hospital and a major provider of orthopaedic, cardiac and neurosurgical services. Its Level III ICU includes 20 state-of-the-art beds, supporting complex medical and surgical patients.
Calvary North Adelaide Hospital features a large maternity service, eight operating theatres, day surgery, medical and oncology services, a day chemotherapy centre and a Level II ICU with 8 beds.
