Service Manager Opportunities
The Service Managers will lead the day-to-day performance of Oomiak’s Victorian or Queensland customer service operations.
These are operational leadership roles responsible for service delivery, customer relationships, team performance, safety and commercial outcomes across significant industrial refrigeration customer bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop technicians and apprentices, setting clear standards and building a positive, accountable team culture
- Manage scheduling, prioritisation, resourcing and coordination across planned maintenance, breakdown response and small works
- Build strong relationships with customers and site stakeholders
- Manage service performance, productivity, job quality, cost control and commercial outcomes
- Support technicians with operational issues and customer escalations
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers where required
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Oomiak and customer requirements
- Improve systems, workflow and consistency across the service operation
You will ideally have experience leading technicians within industrial refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical services, industrial maintenance or another field-based technical service environment. You will bring:
- Strong operational leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing planned maintenance, breakdown response, scheduling and field resources
- The ability to build strong customer relationships and manage issues professionally
- A sound understanding of service productivity, quality, costs and profitability
- A practical, safety-focused and solutions-oriented approach
A strong technical refrigeration background would be highly regarded, including experienced technicians or supervisors ready to step into a broader leadership role.
Refrigeration Technician Opportunities
The Refrigeration Technicians will provide installation, commissioning, service and maintenance support across a broad range of industrial refrigeration systems and customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across industrial customer sites
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently
- Support installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment
- Work with ammonia, CO₂ and other industrial refrigeration technologies
- Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians and apprentices
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service outcomes
- Contribute to safe work practices, compliance and continuous improvement
Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities may be available across service, commissioning, installation and project work. You will have:
- At least two years’ refrigeration industry experience, with senior-level industrial experience preferred
- An NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent qualification
- Strong fault-finding and technical skills
- A genuine commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service
- The ability to work independently across customer sites
Experience with ammonia or other large industrial refrigeration systems will be highly regarded, although technicians with strong commercial refrigeration experience who are ready to develop their industrial capability are also encouraged to apply.
