OBJECTIVES Join our innovative engineering team and make a real-world impact! As a Software Engineer, you'll contribute to the development of our Public Safety SDK, empowering first responders and others with cutting-edge mobile evidence solutions. Working primarily with Kotlin, you'll design, develop, and maintain the Mobile Evidence SDK for both internal and external consumers, with a strong emphasis on creating a seamless and positive developer experience. You will also have the opportunity to work with other SDK technologies like Kotlin Multiplatform and Swift. Be a key player in building technology that matters. Job Description SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES Designing and maintaining robust SDK libraries as well contributing to any required supplementary tasks (QA, pipelines, etc) Working across platforms, including Android, iOS & .NET , to ensure library compatibility and integration Collaborating on library architecture, API design, and documentation Maintaining library quality through specialized testing and documentation practices Ensure code is extensible and maintainable by following leading architectural principles and patterns Automate core development workflows and contribute to tooling and manage CI/CD pipelines Actively monitor services, respond to incidents and contribute to post incident reviews Contribute to a continuous learning culture by participating in training and workshops, bringing ideas to the table and creating learning opportunities Help drive continuous improvement by actively identifying improvements, participating in retrospectives and contributing to key metrics Focus on customers by asking the right questions, solving the right problem and designing great experiences Share domain knowledge across teams to drive adoption Mentor and guide team members as progressing into a more senior role Help drive engineering best practices and initiatives Basic Requirements GENERAL EDUCATION Nice to have: Tertiary level computer science or software engineering Certificates in software or cloud technologies Certificates in Agile KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Minimum 6m - 1 year of continuous commercial experience in an enterprise environment Solid experience in Software Development, Design and Architecture, ideally within an enterprise environment Strong knowledge and application of software design patterns Experience with Agile development methodologies Solid understanding of HTTP, JSON and RESTful design BONUS POINTS Kotlin language and ecosystem Understanding of WebSocket and WebRTC Understanding of statically typed programming Experience with Jira and Confluence Experience with containerisation (eg. Docker) Experience and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure Devops, GitLab) API Blueprint for API design and documentation EXPERIENCE 1+ years engineering experience 1+ years delivering with Agile methodology PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Can-do attitude and a passion for technology Sound planning capability, good prioritisation skills and personal organisation.
