Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: LAB MANAGER, ASCP MT CERTIFIED NAMPA MEDICAL CENTER Relocation Assistance Available SUMMARY: Develops, implements, and manages laboratory services for the medical center, its patients, its staff, and agency clients, while collaborating with regional laboratory director for all relevant issues. Areas of oversight may include Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Service, Microbiology, Histology/Cytology, as well as 24/7 accountability for onsite laboratory issues. Works with laboratory medical directors on a daily basis. Responsible for laboratory quality and quantity of work, procedures, methods, costs, and staff throughout the medical center. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program required. Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science preferred. 2. Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technologist through AMT or ASCP required. 3. Minimum of five years of experience in laboratory services in a hospital or other complex lab. 4. Supervisory experience WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. 2. Facilitates and manages team performance to the established performance levels in a timely manner per medical center guidelines. 3. Plans, prepares, and coordinates work schedules to provide adequate coverage and efficient use of personnel. 4. Plans, prepares and maintains assigned procedure manuals according to regulatory requirements. 5. Ensures that department or shift personnel provide accurate and timely testing results in accordance with laboratory standards and RHM specific requirements. 6. Ensures that QC testing is performed, recorded and evaluated according to established guidelines and that out-of-control results are resolved in a timely manner. 7. Coordinating with the regional director and medical center responsible VP, plans, develops and implements laboratory specific programs aligned with the strategic planning initiatives for the RHM and Saint Alphonsus System. 8. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for testing of all age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric). 9. Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of coding, CDM management, appropriate documentation and supply management in the laboratory setting. 10. Determines the overall mission and range of services, in conjunction with medical director and regional laboratory director. 11. Works with physicians, regional director and staff to establish, implement, and monitor ongoing program goals and objectives. 12. Develops an annual operating budget in which projected expenses are fully supported by expected revenues and meets program objectives. Coordinates this effort with the regional director and responsible Vice President. 13. Must possess human relations, communications, and management skills, role modeling appropriate leadership behavior in all instances. 14. Requires excellent communication and public speaking skills. 15. Accounting, budgeting, cost management and other business skills helpful.
