Law internships: legal & corporate ESG

Introduction The Legal Corporate & ESG team in Veldhoven is part of ASML’s Legal & Compliance department and collaborates with legal professionals across the globe. The team provides legal guidance on corporate matters and supports ASML’s sustainability ambitions by helping the organization understand and respond to evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) requirements. In this internship, you will contribute to interpreting new regulations, supporting business stakeholders, and helping translate legal developments into practical solutions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of law, sustainability, and innovation. Your assignment As part of this internship, you will support the team in navigating the rapidly changing ESG regulatory landscape. You will work closely with legal professionals and business stakeholders while contributing to both strategic and operational activities. Your work will help improve understanding of ESG obligations and support effective implementation across the organization. Your main responsibilities will be: Monitor and analyze emerging ESG legislation and regulatory developments Translate legal developments into practical and actionable guidance Support stakeholders in understanding the impact of regulatory changes Contribute to legal advice on sustainability-related topics and obligations Assist in coordinating ESG projects and stakeholder activities Prepare stakeholder updates, summaries, and project documentation Draft agreements supporting community and sustainability initiatives This is a master internship (non-thesis) for minimum 6 months, 4-5 days per week (3-4 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of as soon as possible/November 2026 Your profile To be suitable for the internship, you: Are pursuing a master's degree in Global Law, Business Law, Corporate Law, European Law, Law & Technology, or another relevant legal field with a sustainability focus Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English Are analytical and able to structure complex information into clear outputs Demonstrate a proactive, curious, and collaborative approach to work Can organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively Show attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility This internship is ideal if you are interested in how organizations respond to evolving sustainability legislation and reporting obligations. During this internship, you will gain practical legal experience, collaborate with international stakeholders, and contribute to projects that support responsible business practices. The internship offers an opportunity to develop your legal advisory, project coordination, and stakeholder management skills within a global technology environment. Other requirements you need to meet: You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship; If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement); You attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular; You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship.
