Is this job info correct?

The short version

A fast-growing, AI-native fintech startup (backed by Y Combinator and Google's AI fund) is hiring its first ever Lead Deployment Strategist. Your job: take enterprise accounts that are already paying around $200K a year and turn them into $2M+ relationships. You will be the person Fortune 500 executives call when they want more of what this company does. No one has held this seat before, which means you get to build the playbook, not inherit one.

What they actually do

The insurance industry still runs on phone calls, paper forms, and fax-machine energy. This company built a universal API that lets household-name enterprises connect to insurance data in seconds instead of hours. It works, clients love it, and the numbers back it up: mid seven figures in ARR, 160%+ net dollar retention, and a team that has grown from 9 to 25 since February with plans to hit 50 by year-end.

What you'll be doing

You will own a portfolio of enterprise clients end to end. That means flying out to client sites about once a month, running QBRs with senior leadership, and building the executive relationships that turn pilots into full deployments. You'll dig into each client's people, process, and technology to spot expansion opportunities (the good ones have 10+ hiding in plain sight), then build the Excel models, business cases, and presentations that get deals over the line. You'll also lead a small squad, a technical account manager plus a product manager, and help junior teammates level up their client strategy thinking.

To be clear: this is a hands-on IC role with a leadership trajectory, not a people-management seat. You'll be in the deals yourself.

Who they're looking for

Someone with 8+ years of experience anchored in strategy consulting. Think MBB, Deloitte Strategy, EY-Parthenon, or Oliver Wyman, ideally followed by time at a high-growth tech startup. The non-negotiable: you have personally led complex Fortune 500 engagements from point A to Z. Owned the outcome, not supported someone who did.

You should be comfortable with technical concepts (APIs, integrations, software architecture) without needing to code, sharp in Excel, and genuinely good in a room with VPs and C-suite executives. Ambiguity should energize you rather than stress you out. This is a 25-person startup, and structure is something you'll help create.

The details

The role is based onsite 4 days a week in central Manhattan, with relocation support available. Compensation is $190K to $240K OTE on an 80/20 base and bonus split, plus 0.15% to 0.3% equity, full benefits, unlimited PTO, and an annual team offsite. Visa transfers and sponsorship are on the table. The interview process is three steps: an initial screen, a super day (behavioral, case presentation, founder interview), and done. They move fast.

Why this one is worth a look

First-in-seat roles at companies with real revenue and real product-market fit don't come along often. You'd be building a function from scratch, working directly with C-suite leaders at some of the biggest brands in the country, with a clear path to growing accounts from $200K to $5M+ each. If you've been itching to trade slide reviews for actual ownership, this is that job
