Tired of the same old routine? We are looking for an Engineering Manager who thrives on solving complex automation challenges.

Job Description:

We are a pioneering nuclear technology company focused on deploying state-of-the-art fusion technology to solve global problems. We are seeking an Instruments and Controls (I&C) / Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our newly integrated team of software and electrical engineers at our Fitchburg campus. In this role, you will oversee the design, development, procurement, and testing of systems used to power, control, and monitor processes for our medical isotope production facilities.

You will play a critical role in establishing common technology platforms, mentoring a highly skilled team, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of highly skilled I&C and electrical engineers focused on control systems, instruments, and power supply design.
  • Mentor engineers in technology, decision making, and ownership of the I&C equipment they are responsible for.
  • Lead the integration of the software and electrical engineering teams to function cohesively and produce unified outputs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers and counterparts at other sites to establish common technology standards and platforms for controls.
  • Oversee the development of digital and analog control systems, including DCS, PAC/PLC, and DAQ systems.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, design releases, and prioritize troubleshooting efforts.
  • Ensure proper release of documentation and work closely with the build and test teams to support equipment installation and commissioning.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with a strong preference for Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Seven to ten or more years of experience in engineering, with a proven track record of progressing into and successfully holding a management role.
  • Strong technical competence in electrical engineering, specifically in power distribution or instrumentation and controls, along with foundational knowledge of software components like PLC programming.
  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships, lead cross-functional teams, and drive organizational synergy.
  • A strong mindset geared toward continual improvement and process evaluation.
  • Experience in automation within the medical instruments, radiopharma, or nuclear industries is highly preferred.
  • Experience with both PLC programming and embedded C is highly preferred.
  • Experience with machine design and building factories or automation systems is highly preferred.
  • A working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies is highly preferred.

Work at the forefront of fusion technology with a company that is actively producing vital medical isotopes. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in a newly reorganized team, shaping standard work and technology platforms in a highly collaborative environment with a focus on continual improvement and innovation. We offer a competitive base salary with potential for bonuses and relocation assistance. If you are ready to make an impact, apply now!
