Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Lead Medium Voltage Engineer out of our Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh area) office. This role offers a hybrid schedule with domestic and international travel up to 25% in a year. We are able to offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates within the United States. As the Lead Medium Voltage (MV) Engineer you are going to l ead and execute design engineering projects for Eaton’s Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker product line. Responsibilities include new product development from inception through production implementation, maintaining third party certifications, supporting production, performance enhancements to improve existing products and addressing application issues. The position works closely with the industrialization and product line marketing teams, in addition to plant manufacturing and quality teams, and customers. The individual will have design responsibility for product families, learn industrial circuit breaker technology and is expected to develop MV vacuum circuit breaker subject-matter expertise. What you’ll do: Drive business growth through new product planning, team-based development and production launch to market. Develop strong technical knowledge of circuit breaker products and competitive technology, and the governing regulatory standards and customer requirements. Compile requirements, lead conceptual and detailed design, development, prototyping, validation, and documentation of product designs. Build prototypes and plan and execute test programs to evaluate designs. Work with manufacturing process owners to design according to capabilities and to establish process controls for cost-effective, defect-free manufacturing. Provide accurate design documentation with tolerances and Bills of Materials. Lead stage-gate new product development activities including with required documentation for relevant projects. Participate in project reviews. Enhance performance margin using Design for Six Sigma quality tools, and simulation. Initiate changes to drive product robustness. Secure and maintain third-party certifications. Participate in process improvement to enhance effectiveness and quality, accelerate programs and reduce costs. Utilize communication and business skills to propose and plan project activities, present in design reviews, clarify requirements, deploy instructions, lead teams and share application information. Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and partner organizations in programs of mutual benefit, including standards-making bodies and certifying agencies. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution. 7 years of experience in a related field with focus on new product development and design.
