Job Description Summary The Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers a wide range of high-voltage transmission projects, utilizing both AC and DC technologies. The HVDC Solutions Line (SL) —a key component of GSI responsible for engineering design — is seeking a RAM Project Engineer to join our global team of experts in high-voltage electrical equipment. As a RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating, creating, verifying, and validating RAM records for HVDC systems and subsystems. You will manage risks and opportunities throughout the RAM phase of the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will play a key role in enforcing engineering discipline and quality processes— specifically during the Tender (ITO) and project close-out phases—developing and industrializing engineering solutions, promoting health and safety practices, and providing technical guidance and training to customers and colleagues in accordance with CIGRE, IEC, and IEEE protocols. Job Description Reliability, Availability and Maintainability Process development & managing RAM data during close-out phase (RAMS): RAM Process Development & Lifecycle Management Strategy & Governance: Lead R AM initiatives for the HVDC SL; consult with key stakeholders and enforce standard governance processes. Performance Monitoring: Track RAM KPIs during the project close-out phase; conduct regular risk assessments and performance predictions backed by detailed data analysis. Contractual & Risk Assessment: Perform critical Liquidated Damages (LD) assessments; apply contractual obligations to R AM assessments while minimizing risk exposure to GE Vernova . Stakeholder Collaboration: C oordinate with Project Engineering Managers (PEMs) to record detailed assessments of RAM-related incidents; review RAM data with regional project management teams and customers. Tender Support: Contribute to RAM proposals during the Tender (ITO) phase by reviewing customer requirements. RAM Analysis & Digital Integration Event Assessment: Analyze RAM events in accordance with CIGRE guidelines. Data Automation: Streamline RAM data flow between internal and external. stakeholders, including the development of automated RAMS dashboards. Lean & Continuous Improvement Operational Excellence: Apply Return on Experience (ROE) from close-out projects to improve future RAM proposals. Product Insights: Provide recommendations for product improvements based on field failure data and identified process enhancements. Industry Trends: Stay current with evolving industry trends and best practices in RAM engineering. Reliability & Availability E ngineering Modelling: Conduct reliability analysis and modeling to predict product performance. Mitigation Strategy: Identify reliability risks and collaborate with design teams to incorporate mitigation strategies and reliability engineering principles into product development. System Optimization: Analyze systems to determine availability metrics and develop strategies to enhance system uptime and operational efficiency. Health, Safety, & Environment (EHS) Actively promote the identification of hazards and E HS risks in design and operation. Provide insights to customers and colleagues regarding safety, system integrity, and product reliability. Performance Measurement Success in this role will be measured by the following criteria: * Financial & Risk Accuracy: Solidify the organizational position regarding RAM exposure through in-depth event analysis. * Governance & Compliance: Formalize RAM processes and guidelines; ensure strict adherence to design management tools, quality processes, and GE Vernova policies. * KPI Tracking: Full adherence to monthly KPIs and formalized mitigation plans with tracked status (not started, ongoing, closed). * Project Execution: Maintain updated discipline workload plans, deploy validated interface sheets, and ensure seamless information exchange between stakeholders. * Continuous Improvement: Utilize the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) system and ensure discipline documentation is attached to all RAM performance reports. Qualifications & Experience Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Experience: Minimum of 5 years in reliability engineering or a related field. Domain Expertise: Substantial knowledge and practical experience in performing Reliability & Availability assessments within the electrical industry, preferably HVDC. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in reliability analysis tools and software. Communication: Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. Preferred Skills Experience with predictive maintenance technologies. Professional certification in reliability engineering (e.g., CRE). Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies. Core Competencies Technical Domain: HVDC systems knowledge, RAM assessment/management, LD assessment, Risk Management, and advanced data analysis/visualization. Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Critical Thinking: Capable of structuring defendable arguments based on evidence, assumptions, and data-driven decisions. Ethics & Professionalism: Personal commitment to professional standards and responsibilities toward society, the profession, and the environment.
