Job Description Summary Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to field operation. A successful Lead Systems Engineer impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. They are guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The focus of this role will be supporting the implementation of corrective actions in collaboration with Root Cause Analysis. The role will also be responsible for Emergent Repair programs ensuring that complex problems are resolved with a focus on technician safety and turbine availability. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for execution for Emergent Repair programs to resolve complex issues and return turbines to service. Responsible for collaboration with Root Cause Analysis team to develop repairs for long term corrective actions. Identify and develop programs to drive down time to return units to service Partner with Program Management and Product Line to guide optimal design decisions for current products, new products, and commercial deals to achieve business objectives Lead technical program teams on system trade-offs and optimizations with a focus on Safety and reducing Services Costs. Communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences Lead Services investments from pre-conceptual design work through design, validation and launch, prioritizing and managing risks on safety, quality, delivery, and cost Effectively manage program requirements and requirement flow down to optimize product offering and competitiveness Work with Systems Leaders to leverage lessons learned, best practices, process improvements and standard work Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college Minimum of 2 years of significant experience in Engineering/Technology Desired Characteristics Ability to break down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making System or product-level mindset Conceptual design and/or system-level trade-off experience Wind turbine experience in design, installation, operation, maintenance or repairs Requirements definition, decomposition, and/or translation experience Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences GE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
