Position Details Fixed-Term until June 2029 | Full-Time Academic Level B I AU$115,871 - $137,122pa | 17% superannuation Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Position Join one of Australia's leading criminology teams. Flinders Criminology is recognised for transdisciplinary, industry-engaged research and education that influences policy, informs practice and improves justice outcomes. Working closely with government, industry and community partners, we develop evidence-based solutions to complex social harms and challenges across the criminal justice system. We are seeking a Lecturer in Criminology to join our academic community. This exciting opportunity combines high-quality teaching with impactful research, including contributing to an Australian Research Council-funded project investigating desistance and community-based correctional supervision. Flinders Criminology is also home to the ARC Centre of Excellence for Prisoner Reintegration, providing you opportunities for wider collaboration and impact. Whether you are building your research profile or looking to take the next step in your academic career, you will be supported by a collaborative team that values innovation, partnership and research with real-world impact. In this role, you will Contribute to high-impact research through publications, grant applications and collaboration on an ARC-funded project exploring desistance and correctional supervision. Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching that inspires students and prepares graduates for careers across the justice sector. Design innovative curriculum and learning experiences that reflect contemporary criminological theory, policy and practice. Build meaningful partnerships with government, industry and community organisations to strengthen research translation and student opportunities. Supervise HDR students and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of Flinders Criminology. About You: You’re an emerging leader in criminology who wants to make a meaningful contribution through both research and teaching. You'll have the opportunity to grow your research profile, collaborate with industry and government partners to drive real-world impact, and contribute to innovative teaching that prepares graduates for careers across the justice sector. You'll bring: A PhD in Criminology or a closely related discipline An emerging track record of research excellence in corrections, desistance, or rehabilitation, including publications and the potential to secure competitive research funding,. Evidence of high-quality teaching and a commitment to delivering engaging, student-centred learning. The ability to build productive partnerships across government, industry and the community. A collaborative approach and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to an inclusive and high-performing academic team. This position is open to candidates with Australian Work Rights.
