Job Description - Lumber Reliability Director (01024882) Job Description Lumber Reliability Director - 01024882 Description Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Lumber Reliability Director to join the Wood Products Engineering/Reliability/Innovation team. This position will report to the VP of Engineering/Reliability/Innovation for Wood Products and will provide support and guidance on building organizational capability across lumber to maximize asset availability, reduce unplanned downtime, improve work effectiveness, and deliver improved and sustainable business results through a disciplined reliability program. The Lumber Reliability Director is the executive owner responsible for building a reliability system to improve asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, and operational results across multiple mills by establishing standards, building capability, and driving a reliability-focused culture. The Lumber Reliability Director, using the 3C Reliability framework and standard Wood Products reliability practices, will develop a strategy to ensure all lumber sites have customized, detailed action plans that deliver improved EBITDA through increased uptime and reliability. This role will play a key part in supporting the business to deliver the objectives laid out in the Lumber Growth Strategy. The successful candidate will partner with the Vice President of Softwood Lumber, Regional Lumber Manufacturing Directors, Mill Managers, Regional Reliability Managers, mill Reliability Managers, and operations and maintenance leaders to improve asset reliability across the lumber business. This work will include maintenance and operations reliability process assessment and improvement, coordinated training activities to strengthen technical capability, and collaboration with other Wood Products Reliability leaders to ensure consistency of standards, execution, and shared training opportunities. NOTE: This role is a fully remote, work-from-home position, provided you are currently based in, or planning to move to, one of the following states: MS, AL, AR, OK, LA, NC, OR, WA, WV, MI, or MT. This role is not open to individuals who live in other states or countries. Key Function: Provide guidance to lumber sites in evaluation of current opportunities against the Wood Products 3C Reliability Framework as well as the Wood Products Reliability Roadmap and help the sites create a plan to address those gaps to deliver their site’s plan as well as the overall Lumber Growth Strategy objectives. Determine the training activities needed for lumber sites to advance reliability knowledge, including bootcamps, and strengthen execution against Weyerhaeuser’s business objectives and Standard Manufacturing Practices. Recognize that reliability depends on creating a culture. The successful candidate will be able to support sites in fostering a culture of teamwork across all functions to achieve a common goal of Reliability. Be a resource to provide supporting information and guidance related to Weyerhaeuser’s Standard Manufacturing Standards. Generate and interpret SAP and other data sources to help sites evaluate opportunities, track progress, and assess reliability performance. Ensure a robust root cause analysis system is in place and implemented at all sites, providing coaching, feedback, and thoughtful questions to confirm root causes are identified and corrective actions prevent recurrence. Provide leadership through facts, data, and thoughtful questions that engage and support site-level teams Set high standards for reliability execution and inspire others to consistently meet them. Qualifications 10+ years of mill/plant maintenance experience or equivalent. Demonstration of successfully leading organizational change. Bachelor’s / Technical Degree, Engineering degree, and/or equivalent experience in leading reliability improvement preferred This is a remote role, located within the U.S. Travel expectations are 50% annually and could be higher at times. What We Offer: Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $149,790-217,185 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
