Te Tūranga - The Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Alliance Nelson Plant. This is a key role, critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

This position operates on a rotating shift roster 45 hours per week.

Reporting To The Engineering Manager, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Maintaining high Health & Safety standards at all times
• Installing, maintaining, and supporting plant and operational equipment
• Responding to and resolving breakdowns efficiently
• Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks and servicing
• Planning and executing reactive and preventative maintenance
• Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to minimise plant downtime
• Diagnosing faults and determining root causes
• Repairing or replacing faulty components
• Supporting ongoing engineering stores management

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

• A minimum Level 4 Engineering qualification
• Hands-on experience in fitting, machining, and/or welding
• A strong commitment to Health & Safety
• Effective problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good documentation and record-keeping abilities
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster
• Experience in a food production or manufacturing environment (preferred)
• An electrical qualification would be an advantage
