Shape the Future of Advanced Composites

Step into a role where engineering meets impact. Your decisions will directly influence the performance of advanced composite components operating in some of the most demanding aerospace and defence environments across air, land, and sea.

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a high-performing advanced composites manufacturing business. This is a hands-on, production-focused role where you'll ensure complex composite structures are optimised for manufacture, delivered right first time, and continuously improved throughout their lifecycle.

The Opportunity

Operating at the critical interface between engineering and production, you'll play a key role in improving manufacturability, enhancing process performance, and supporting the seamless transition of complex composite components into full-scale production.

From early-stage tooling discussions through to production handover, you'll help drive manufacturing excellence, efficiency, and consistency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across composite manufacturing processes using Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to eliminate recurring non-conformances.
  • Support first-off builds and ensure robust production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain job cards, work instructions, and production planning documentation.
  • Collaborate with production and process engineering teams on tooling, materials, and fixture selection.
  • Improve the accuracy of manufacturing estimates, including labour hours and material requirements.
  • Participate in Material Review Boards (MRBs) and engineering change activities.
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and practical manufacturability.

To be considered, you will have:

  • Full right to work in the UK without current or future visa sponsorship requirements.
  • Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance, including a minimum of five years' continuous UK
  • residency.
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a composite manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes and production techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering manufacturing projects from concept through to full production implementation.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to work within a specialist advanced composites environment where engineering quality and manufacturing excellence go hand in hand.

You'll be part of a fully integrated facility where design, tooling, manufacturing, and testing teams work closely together, giving you genuine ownership and visibility throughout the product lifecycle.

Benefits

  • Up to £60,000 salary
  • Relocation support available
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 5%
  • Health Cash Plan and wellbeing support
  • Employee Assistance Programme (including family access)
  • Death in Service cover
  • Structured onboarding and probation support
  • Collaborative culture built around innovation, teamwork, accountability, integrity, agility, and leadership

If you're a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on improving complex composite manufacturing processes and turning engineering intent into reliable production reality, we'd love to hear from you.

Join a business where your expertise will be valued, your ideas will be heard, and your impact will be visible from day one.
