Materials Product Development Leader

Location: Canton, OH (Relocation Available) Type: Full-Time We are partnering with a flagship manufacturing company seeking a Materials Product Development Leader. This leadership role is focused on customer-driven product development, application engineering, technical commercialization, and technical roadmap development. The position will lead a team of metallurgists and engineers supporting new material solutions, customer applications, and strategic growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead product development and application engineering initiatives from concept through commercialization Partner directly with customers to solve technical and application challenges Build technical roadmaps supporting growth across Aerospace, Defense, Energy, and related markets Lead and develop a team of metallurgists and technical engineers Support technical investigations, failure analysis, and customer issue resolution efforts Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams Drive customer-focused technical innovation and long-term product growth initiatives Ideal Background Materials Science, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or related technical background Experience leading product development, application engineering, technical service, or commercialization initiatives within materials-based manufacturing environments Strong customer-facing technical leadership experience Aerospace, Defense, Energy, specialty metals, forgings, bearings, heat treat, or advanced manufacturing industry experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Base salary target approximately $140K–$190K 20% bonus opportunity Relocation assistance available Strong benefits package including generous PTO
