Job Description Summary The CFM RISE program is advancing innovative technologies to shape the future of commercial aviation, including advanced engine architectures like Open Fan. The RISE Open Fan architecture offers a step-change in efficiency and is being designed with an early focus on durability. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver hardware to test on the first-ever open fan engine, as well as mature composite technology through component rig testing. This role encompasses mechanical design and analysis for the Composite Midfan Case. Major tasks include design review execution and manufacturing support as well as ownership of the midfan blade-out & bird-ingestion rig mission. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using subject matter expertise while adhering to standard practices, procedures, and program requirements. Requires knowledge of composite design fundamentals. Ability to assess risk and balance technical requirements with program needs. Leads and/or contributes to program & department operating rhythms, management of key performance metrics, and action planning / problem solving. Uses a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of composite manufacturing, technology development, and engineering. Has the ability to assess information and ask pertinent questions. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations to peers and stakeholders. Expected to oversee functional teams or projects with significant risk and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts in a simple, understandable way. May guide others to consider a different point of view. Integrates closely with test teams and ensures appropriate pre-test reviews and tollgates are met. Partners with System's focal to ensure conformance to requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an Engineering or Science discipline. Minimum of three years of experience in a similar engineering role. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
