Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Package Managers and Mechanical Construction Managers to join a major Data Centre project in Hamina, Finland.
These are permanent positions offering the opportunity to work on a long-term project within one of Europe’s fastest-growing sectors. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering complex mechanical installations while working alongside experienced engineering and construction teams.
Mechanical Package Manager Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to the mechanical package scope, ensuring delivery aligns with project objectives, programme, and quality standards.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of mechanical package documentation, including specifications, drawings, and scope of works.
- Manage procurement processes for mechanical equipment and materials, working closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with design, construction, commissioning, and project management teams to ensure successful integration of mechanical systems.
- Monitor progress, budgets, schedules, and project risks, implementing mitigation plans where required.
- Lead technical reviews, coordination meetings, and design discussions to resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure all mechanical works are delivered in line with health & safety, environmental, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate project reporting, documentation, progress updates, and lessons learned.
Mechanical Construction Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical construction activities on site.
- Lead mechanical subcontractors, supervisors, and installation teams to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate installation programmes, resources, materials, and site activities to meet project milestones.
- Ensure mechanical works are completed to the highest standards while maintaining compliance with project specifications.
- Work closely with project management, engineering, commissioning, and client teams throughout construction delivery.
- Monitor quality, progress, and safety performance across all mechanical installation activities.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Skills & Requirements
- Degree or professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing mechanical works on large-scale construction or engineering projects.
- Experience delivering complex mechanical packages or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, MEP coordination, and construction methodologies.
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Data Centre experience is desirable but not essential; experience from Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Critical Infrastructure projects will also be considered.
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
