Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Associate or Experienced) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Mechanical System Analysis Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the Airplane Systems Engineer Team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2) program. Position Responsibilities: Associate Level (Level 2) • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers • Performs detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations • Performs spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems • Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts • Works under general supervision. Experienced Level (Level 3) • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications • Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals • Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation • Trains others • Works under general direction. This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Associate Level (Level 2): • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) • 1+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry • 1+ years of design or analysis experience. Experienced Level (Level 3): • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) • Practical experience and knowledge of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): • Active U.S. Secret Clearance • FORTRAN or Sinda Fluent experience • Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or Finite Difference Thermal Analysis • Environmental Control Systems (ECS) testing experience • Qualification and Certification experience with FAA or EASA • Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong presentation and documentation skills • Willingness to travel internationally.
