📍 New York, NY / San Francisco, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid (4–5 Days On-site)

Base Salary: $250K–$350K + Competitive Equity

As one of the earliest research hires, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's research direction, influencing how frontier AI systems are evaluated and improved while working alongside world-class researchers in a fast-moving startup environment.

🔍 What We're Looking For

✅ Required Experience

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field from a top research university with 1-2 Years of startup experience.

OR

• 5+ years of combined academic and industry AI research experience with a strong publication record in Startups.

• Demonstrated expertise across:

• AI Research
• LLM Evaluation
• Benchmark Design
• Dataset Development
• Research Methodology
• Model Evaluation
• Data Quality Improvement

• Ability to independently identify model weaknesses, design experiments, propose novel research directions, and drive projects from concept through implementation.

🎓 Preferred Qualifications

✔ Publications at leading AI conferences such as:

• NeurIPS
• ICML
• ICLR
• CVPR

✔ Research experience in one or more of the following:

• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• AI Evaluation Frameworks
• Benchmark Design
• Dataset Taxonomies
• Multimodal AI
• AI Data Quality
• Computer Vision
• Machine Learning Research

✔ Background combining experience from:

• Frontier AI Labs
• Top AI Research Organizations
• Research Universities
• High-growth AI Startups

✔ Preferred experience includes organizations such as:

• OpenAI
• Anthropic
• Google DeepMind
• Cohere
• xAI

or similar frontier AI research environments.

✔ Candidates with publications, first-author papers, benchmark research, and experience improving frontier AI models through data-centric approaches will be highly preferred.

• Have expertise only in unrelated AI domains without experience in LLM evaluation, benchmark design, or dataset research.

• Prefer contributing to isolated engineering tasks rather than leading research initiatives end-to-end.
