Cunningham Children's Home is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced leader to join our team as a Residential Supervisor (Milieu Coordinator). In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of a busy residential treatment unit serving emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth. You will assist the Associate Director of Residential/Clinical Services in overseeing the residential living unit, with a focus on three main areas: supervising staff, ensuring staffing schedules are complete, and managing the therapeutic milieu. Your primary responsibility will be to assure the safety, security, and effective treatment of the residents in your care. Key Responsibilities: Provide modeling, coaching, motivation, and supervision to a team of direct-care counselors, ensuring adherence to established guidelines for maintaining a therapeutic environment. Maintain daily interactions with unit staff and residents, keeping the Associate Director informed of unit status, staff dynamics, and resident needs. Collaborate with the Therapist, Case Manager, and Night Milieu Coordinators to ensure the delivery of high-quality programming. Interface with medical providers, therapists, clinical case workers, school personnel, parents, and other stakeholders involved in the residents' care. Become a certified trainer in crisis intervention (agency-sponsored) and provide ongoing training to staff on approved techniques. Assume additional staff training responsibilities as needed, maintaining TCI certification and staying current on all required training. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field, meeting Medicaid Community Mental Health Service's qualifications for a Mental Health Professional. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working with children and/or adolescents with severe emotional and/or behavioral disturbances, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Administrative or clinical experience is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, along with exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively. Current and valid Illinois driver’s license with a clean driving record, enabling transportation of children as necessary. Proof of auto insurance in accordance with Illinois state requirements is also required.
