Mine Accountant (Fixed Term) Commercial Department Clermont QLD Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to support our site based Commercial team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of technical finance support throughout multiple levels of the business . In this role you will be responsible for: Financial Management reporting, coordinating, and processing month end activities in a timely and accurate manner Completion of cash management and banking functions Preparation of annual statutory financials FBT and BAS preparation as well as supporting all departments in compiling their annual capital and operating budgets Making commercial recommendations based on your technical expertise and have a proven ability to influence high level decisions Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and adding value through partnering will all departments Requirements of the role include: Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance You will hold, or be studying towards, obtaining your CA/CPA qualification Experience in SAP, XERAS and Power BI will be highly regarde Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint This permanent full-time role requires a detail-oriented candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
