ML Researcher

Location: New York City, NY

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced ML Researcher to join a well-funded and fast-growing Healthcare AI startup.

You’ll work closely with the founders and senior engineers to build the research environments, evaluation systems, datasets, and tools needed to develop the next generation of AI models.

This is a highly technical role for someone who enjoys solving challenging ML problems, building real systems, and taking ownership from research through implementation.

What You’ll Do

• Build and improve Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments
• Develop ML evaluation and benchmarking frameworks
• Create high-quality datasets and verification systems
• Develop tools and infrastructure to support AI/ML research
• Improve AI development and evaluation workflows
• Work closely with founders and senior engineers on technically challenging projects
• Conduct experiments and translate research ideas into working systems
• Help shape new approaches to building and evaluating AI models
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 2–7 years of Machine Learning experience, with 4–6 years preferred
• Hands-on experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL) and/or Multimodal AI
• Experience building or supporting production ML systems
• Strong software engineering and programming skills
• Ability to explain previous ML/AI work in significant technical depth
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• High ownership and ability to work independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Willingness to work onsite in New York City
