Relocation Assistance (based on eligibility) Nurse Manager, AC - South Durham Primary Care Duke Primary Care South Durham is a dynamic clinic providing expert care for patients of all ages. With a skilled team of 20+ providers, the clinic serves 175 to 300 patients daily, offering comprehensive services from pediatric check-ups and immunizations to adult wellness exams, chronic illness management, and women’s health care. Known for personalized attention and high-quality care, the clinic is a trusted choice for families seeking exceptional medical services in a welcoming environment. Location: 234 Crooked Creek Parkway, Suite 200, Durham, NC 27713 Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday What you will do: The Ambulatory Nurse Manager provides both clinical and operational leadership across one or more ambulatory clinics, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. In collaboration with the Practice Administrator, this role aligns nursing priorities with overall clinic operations, supports providers and care teams, and promotes continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager also plays a key role in strategic planning, resource management, and the implementation of organizational and service line goals within the assigned clinics. Clinical Operations Management Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS clinic. Work performed involves managing multi-specialty nursing services delivered within a specified clinic. Manage the clinic in the absence of the HealthCare Administrator/Practice Manager; be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility or staff. Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement. Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate levels of equipment and supplies, and monitor equipment maintenance. Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., OSHA, JCAHO). Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory healthcare site’s mission and objectives. Perform other related duties incidental to clinic operations. Strategic Planning & Program Development Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care services, programs, and activities. Collaborate with the Health Center Administrator/Nurse Manager in determining fiscal requirements; submit budgetary recommendations including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials. Personnel Management & Development Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling. Counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff as needed. Collaborate in the development, implementation, and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all clinical staff. Collaborate with nursing colleagues in ambulatory care to promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among various clinics. Patient & Family-Centered Care Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective and efficient nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum, achieving desired outcomes. Promote education for patients, patient families, and the community. Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred. Experience Three years of nursing experience is required. Related Nurse Manager experience preferred . Process Improvement experience preferred. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BCLS certification required Nurses hired into leadership positions must obtain a leadership certification within three months of hire New nurse leaders who are ineligible to sit for an exam because they have not been working in a leadership role for the minimum amount of time required must complete their certification within three months of becoming eligible Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
