This is an opportunity for an experienced safety leadership professional who is passionate about developing people, influencing operational leaders, and ensuring critical risks are effectively managed. You'll work closely with site leadership teams to create practical, risk-based solutions that improve safety performance while supporting safe and productive operations. Success in this role will come from your ability to build strong relationships, challenge thinking constructively, develop capability within your team, and translate safety systems and data into meaningful improvements in the field. Up to six months’ free, company-provided accommodation may be available for eligible candidates from under-represented groups (for example, women in mining and Indigenous Australians) relocating to Kambalda for permanent roles. Why You'll Love Working for Us Permanent role with a leading international gold producer 6% site allowance Quarterly bonus opportunity of up to 10% per annum Monthly private health insurance allowance 5 weeks annual leave Long service leave after 5 years (pro rata) What You'll Do Lead, coach and develop a team of safety professionals, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused safety function Partner with operational leaders to strengthen risk ownership and embed effective risk management practices across site Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of critical risk management systems and verification activities Coach supervisors and frontline leaders in hazard identification, risk assessment, critical controls and operational decision-making Lead and support ICAM (or equivalent) investigations, ensuring robust causal analysis and meaningful corrective actions Monitor safety performance and emerging trends, using data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement Facilitate effective assurance activities that focus on learning, verification and operational improvement rather than compliance alone Support compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and Gold Fields standards Contribute to site safety strategy, annual planning and continuous improvement initiatives Build strong working relationships across all levels of the operation to influence positive safety outcomes Champion a culture where people feel respected, supported and empowered to speak up about risk What You'll Bring Demonstrated leadership experience within a health and safety role in mining, resources, construction or heavy industry Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating a team of safety professionals Strong knowledge of contemporary risk management principles and critical control management Proven ability to influence operational leaders and drive behavioural and cultural change Experience conducting and facilitating incident investigations (ICAM preferred) Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills Experience using safety management systems and data to drive improvement initiatives Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence Qualification in Work Health & Safety (Cert IV minimum, Diploma or higher highly regarded) About Gold Fields At Gold Fields, we believe great leadership is grounded in empathy, respect, and growth.
