Location: Remote Job Type: Full-Time (30–40 hours/week, W2) Start Date: Summer 2026 onboarding, with paid in-person training in San Jose, CA Compensation: $35-45/hour for teaching + $16–20/hour for non-teaching/admin time About the Role Join Think Academy as a full-time Math Competition Teacher starting Summer 2026. Teach with structured curriculum, receive paid training, and grow into long-term teaching and curriculum roles. Teach using high-quality curriculum (no need to build from scratch) Paid for both teaching and non-teaching work Clear growth path (Senior Teacher, Mentor, Curriculum roles) Long-term opportunity with a consistent teaching schedule This is a long-term teaching opportunity—not a short-term tutoring role. In this role, you will receive: 1) Stronger Teaching Support Teach with high-quality curriculum, lesson materials, and instructional guidance Receive structured onboarding and ongoing training Collaborate with a team instead of teaching in isolation Spend less time building materials from scratch and more time focusing on teaching 2) Long-Term Career Growth High-performing teachers may grow into opportunities such as: Senior Teacher Lead Teacher or Mentor Curriculum and Lesson Development Teacher Training Support Academic Operations or Management roles This role is especially well-suited for candidates seeking a professional teaching path with both instructional depth and long-term advancement opportunities. 3) Competitive and Meaningful Earnings Compensation for both teaching and non-teaching work (grading, class preparation, parent communication) Performance-based increases and advancement opportunities Potential to continue into year-round teaching, creating more stable long-term earnings What You’ll Do Teach AMC 8 math classes in a clear, engaging, and student-centered way Deliver competition-focused lessons using Think Academy's curriculum, lesson materials, and instructional guidance Support students in building problem-solving skills, mathematical thinking, and competition confidence Introduce creative and challenging math topics beyond standard curriculum (combinatorics, number theory, geometry, logic) Manage a virtual or in-person classroom and create a positive learning environment Grade homework and provide timely academic feedback Communicate professionally with students and parents about progress, performance, and competition goals Participate in teacher training, lesson preparation, and ongoing professional development Work approximately 30–40 hours per week, with most classes scheduled during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends Who We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree completed or in progress Strong math foundation, particularly in competition math topics Personal experience with AMC 8, AMC 10/12, or other math competitions is a plus Passion for making competition math accessible and exciting for middle school students Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to commit at least one semester with fixed teaching schedule (Fall semester ends in Dec. 2026) Available to work during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, camp teaching, or working with K–8 students is a plus Available to attend a 5-day on-site training (paid) in San Jose, CA as part of onboarding Compensation & Benefits Teaching Hours: $35-45/hour Non-Teaching/Admin Hours: $16–20/hour for grading, class preparation, parent communication, and related work Performance-Based Increases: Opportunities for bonuses and pay rate growth based on performance and long-term contribution Consistent Teaching Opportunities: Strong teachers may continue into year-round teaching opportunities, creating more stable long-term earnings Benefits: 401(k), health insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance based on eligibility Visa Support: Work visa sponsorship may be considered for long-term, high-performing teachers Think Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
