Operations Supervisor -Stagebuilder

Overview General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking Operations Supervisors to take part in building the most complex product in the world. The Operations Supervisor for Stagebuilding must possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as requirements of assigned tasks dictate. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Must meet one of the following: 1+ years related Electric Boat experience 1 year Electric Boat experience combined with a related Engineering degree 3 years combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting The ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and drawings Candidates must possess strong PC skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Must be willing to work extended hours, holidays and weekends as business needs dictate Must be available to work all assigned shifts Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense Preferred: Previous supervisory experience Previous shipyard, shipfitting or construction (carpentry) experience Education and/or training (i.e. Technical School, AS/BS degree in any engineering discipline) MDU graduate Military Skills Ability to evaluate risk and execute plans that minimize risk Highly motivated individual requiring minimal oversight Ability to motivate peers and subordinates to achieve daily goals Comfortable with public speaking Candidates must have strong organizational skills, presentation skills and verbal & written communication skills Physical Qualifications Climbing, Crawling, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet
