OS Performance Architect

About the Company

We are looking for a System Performance Architect to drive the design and development of hardware-software-chip co-optimization and integrated system scheduling for HarmonyOS, with the goal of delivering industry-leading system performance.

About the Role

Key technical areas include CPU/GPU/DDR scheduling (such as priority management, task grouping, and core selection), frequency scaling mechanisms, kernel-chip hardware/software co-optimization, and scheduling mechanisms that balance performance, power consumption, and thermal constraints. The role will drive technical solutions from design through implementation on end devices, improving overall product performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and optimize application performance at the OS level, build key performance capabilities for HarmonyOS applications, and improve application interaction and animation performance.
• Design and optimize high-performance core modules and resolve critical performance issues.
• Research and analyze application technologies used in leading operating systems, including high-performance APIs and application development paradigms.
• Build high-performance application development frameworks for HarmonyOS to enable simpler development and smoother user experiences.
• Design and optimize CPU/GPU/DDR scheduling mechanisms, including priority management, task grouping, core selection, frequency scaling, and performance/power/thermal-aware scheduling.
• Drive kernel-chip hardware/software co-optimization and related system-level performance optimization.
• Research advanced industry technologies and the latest academic developments, and define the technology roadmap and evolution of hardware-software-chip co-optimization and integrated system scheduling for HarmonyOS.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in operating system performance optimization, system scheduling, kernel development, or hardware-software-chip co-optimization.
• Experience with CPU/GPU/DDR scheduling, priority management, task grouping, core selection strategies, frequency scaling mechanisms, or performance/power/thermal-aware scheduling is preferred.

Required Skills

• A deep understanding of OS-level application performance optimization, with the ability to identify and resolve critical performance bottlenecks in core system modules and improve application interaction efficiency, animation smoothness, and overall user experience.
• Familiarity with high-performance application development, including high-performance APIs, application development paradigms, runtime optimization, and performance-oriented framework design.
• Ability to track and analyze advanced industry technologies and the latest academic research, and translate relevant developments into technical roadmaps and evolution directions.
• Strong problem-solving and engineering execution capabilities, with the ability to drive technical solutions from design through deployment on end devices and deliver measurable improvements in product performance and user experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with research, engineering, product, and cross-regional teams.
• Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.
