Delivers care within the State-approved Scope of Practice, approved competencies, and organizational policies and procedures. Monitors, assesses, and documents patient status using electronic health records and patient monitoring systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation. Communicates pertinent changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Provider, and other members of the care team to support continuity of care. Coordinates and processes patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication among stakeholders. Maintains emergency equipment, supplies, and clinical workspaces to ensure operational readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance. Supports a clean, safe, and organized environment, including performing routine environmental cleaning tasks as needed. Participates in unit-based Shared Governance initiatives and contributes to quality improvement efforts and departmental goals. May serve as the first clinical point of contact for patients in the Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting, utilizing strong assessment and critical thinking skills. May perform triage functions with appropriate Emergency Severity Index (ESI) training and certification. May monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize and report significant rate or rhythm changes, and promptly notify the Registered Nurse of urgent or life-threatening findings. May administer medications in accordance with the approved Paramedic Scope of Practice, organizational policies, and clinical protocols. May receive and manage emergent and non-emergent medical telephone calls, maintain accurate dispatch records, and support efficient patient flow throughout the department. Coordinates patient transfer arrangements with EMS agencies and facilitates communication between the Emergency Department and responding transport teams. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with EMS partners, healthcare team members, and other internal and external stakeholders. Promotes a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment that supports exceptional patient care and employee engagement. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs. Qualifications: Required Qualifications Current New Mexico Paramedic License issued by the State of New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Bureau. Current certifications in: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in any field of study with a minimum of two (2) years of direct patient care experience. Two (2) years of Emergency Department patient care experience, including triage experience. Previous Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Dispatch experience.
