Description: Job: Pharmacology Faculty Work Location: Qatar Organization: Medical Education and CPD Work Days: Sunday-Thursday Sponsorship Eligibility: Yes Classification: Full Time Posting End Date: 09/30/2026 Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, pharmacology faulty with demonstrated commitment to excellence in medical education; teaching pharmacology in a medical school, preferably in North America, to contribute in the integrated Foundational Sciences courses and clerkships of the medical program. WCM-Q and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York share the same mission: to provide the finest education possible for medical students, conduct research at the cutting edge of knowledge, improve health care, both now and for future generations, and provide the highest quality of care to the community. Job Responsibilities Education: Lead pharmacology instruction across the 4-year medical curriculum. Teach in the integrated foundational sciences using diverse pedagogical approaches, mentoring students, and contributing to their professional growth in a culturally diverse environment. Research and Scholarship: Engage in basic science, translational or educational research, with both local and international collaborations. Contribute to publications, presentations, and grant-funded projects, advancing the mission of academic excellence. Education & Experience Must Have M.D., Ph.D., PharmD or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree. A record of excellence in teaching and scholarship and research interests that complement with those of WCM-Q. Previous experience in the teaching of the principles of pharmacology and systems pharmacology in a medical curriculum. An interest in contributing to research in medical education and participating in administrative roles in teaching. Should Have A minimum of three years of significant teaching experience in a university or academic health system, preferably in North America. Experience providing individual support, feedback, and advice to medical students. Knowledge of medical education curricular development and innovations. A track record of basic science, translational research or educational research would be highly advantageous. Preference will be given to applicants who provide evidence of the development and delivery of innovative teaching approaches, student advising, and involvement in research. A strong record of excellence and commitment to education and scholarship is highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Passion for student success. Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF). The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at the university level, WCM-Q offers an integrated Six-Year Medical Program that incorporates pre-medical and medical studies and leads to the Cornell University M.D. degree. Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) who hold Weill Cornell appointments. Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first-year pre-medical students in the fall of 2002 to over 300 students from more than 30 countries today. WCM-Q is part of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, which was founded over 100 years ago, and shares the same mission: to provide the finest education possible for medical students to conduct research at the cutting edge of knowledge to improve healthcare both now and for future generations to provide the highest quality of care to the community WCM-Q’s home city is Doha, a thriving cosmopolitan metropolis with a culturally diverse population, a rapidly growing economy, and modern infrastructure. WCM-Q is a member of Qatar Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with multiple centers focused on education, research and innovation, and community development.
