Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (Board Eligibility required within 5 years of residency completion) Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based patient care Strong clinical and communication skills Interest in building long-term patient relationships within the community Opportunity Details Primarily outpatient-focused gastroenterology practice with inpatient consult responsibilities Average clinic volume of approximately 18–22 patients per day Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions Perform endoscopic and procedural GI services Collaborate closely with primary care providers, surgeons, hospitalists, and specialty teams Opportunity to help expand and shape GI services within the region Procedural & Hospital Responsibilities Minimum of one dedicated procedural/scoping day per week Procedures performed at the Leroy Outpatient Center and Canton-Potsdam Hospital Operating room access available for higher-acuity patients and advanced GI procedures Call Coverage Shared 1:4 call schedule Includes inpatient consultative and procedural call responsibilities Practice Location Canton-Potsdam Hospital and Leroy Outpatient Center in Potsdam, New York Additional Details EMR Platform: Epic Compensation & Benefits We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support your career and well-being: Competitive base salary: $700,000 - $750,000* Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement savings plan with employer contribution Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Visa sponsorship opportunities available * Pay Summary The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. Apply Today Rochester Regional Health Careers EDUCATION: DO, MD LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Physician - NYS Office of Professions PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
