Join a global Plant Health innovation team working at the interface of molecular plant pathology, trait discovery, and crop improvement. If you are a self-driven scientist passionate about plant-pathogen interactions, this role offers the opportunity to uncover disease resistance mechanisms, shape experimental strategies, and translate scientific insights into next-level genetic resistance solutions for major row crops and vegetables. Your responsibilities In this key role, you will help advance our understanding of plant-pathogen interactions and translate scientific insight into innovative trait solutions. Your responsibilities will include: Shape experimental strategies and influence how disease resistance traits are discovered and advanced across crops. Develop and implement new bioassays for trait discovery and product characterisation. Set up high-throughput workflows for disease testing and performance evaluation. Optimise laboratory methods and processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of scientific tools. Introduce emerging approaches and technologies that strengthen scientific innovation. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across R&D, breeding, biotechnology, analytics, operations, and related functions. Depending on your experience, lead cross-functional projects, mentor colleagues, or coordinate scientific workstreams. We are looking for someone who: has a PhD in plant pathology, agronomy, genomics, or a related discipline. is recognised for strategic thinking and the ability to drive change. demonstrates scientific creativity and a results-oriented mindset. has solid experience in experimental design, data analysis, and statistics. has a track record of independently acquiring and integrating advanced scientific approaches, such as genomics, phenotyping, metabolomics, and plant-pathogen interaction methods. is comfortable working in an international environment and communicates fluently in English, with a minimum B2 level.
