Ormsary Estate, are looking for a practical, hands-on Plant Maintenance Engineer to join their small engineering team.
This isn't a production line.
It isn't a factory.
It's a unique engineering role where no two days are ever the same. One day you could be maintaining a hydroelectric turbine. The next you could be repairing pumps at a fish farm, welding fabrication work, laying electrical cables, working alongside contractors or helping commission a brand-new renewable energy project.

What you'll be working on
You'll help maintain and develop a fascinating mix of engineering assets including:
- Hydroelectric schemes
- Wind turbines
- Fish farming facilities
- Pumps, compressors, valves and boilers
- Water treatment systems
- Electrical installations
- Fabrication and welding
- Estate engineering projects
- Planned and reactive maintenance
About You
You'll ideally be:
- A qualified Mechanical Engineer with good electrical knowledge (or vice versa)
- Experienced within plant, manufacturing, utilities, heavy engineering, industrial maintenance or similar
- Comfortable fault finding on both mechanical and electrical equipment
- Practical, adaptable and happy to turn your hand to a wide variety of engineering challenges
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and working as part of a close-knit team
- Holder of a full UK driving licence
Experience with hydro, renewables or aquaculture isn't essential—full training will be provided.
What matters most is attitude, practical ability and a willingness to learn.
