Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a
Principal Embedded Software Engineer
to be part of their product development teams.

What You Will Do:
Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds
Demonstrate critical thinking skills, the ability to thrive in small, empowered teams, and an intense desire to directly enable our customers’ success
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments
Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications
Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline
Ability to get and maintain TS and Special Access Programs (SAP) to meet program's clearance requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++
Experience with Scripting languages like Python.
Experience with System and Software blended skills including::
a) Optimization and Analysis
b) System of Systems Resource Management
c) Modeling and Simulation – kill chain analysis
d) Tracking Software Integration, output analysis, and algorithm development

Qualifications We Prefer:
Bench support, familiarity with platform engineering tools
Clearly communicate plans, status, and issues to teammates and program leadership
Ensure the successful integration of software components into delivered products
Experience in Object Oriented and scripting languages
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software using C / C++ or modern software development language
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
Software development lifecycle experience
Excellent communications skills and team collaboration skills
Self-motivated
Proven ability and desire to facilitate career growth and knowledge transfer
Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
