Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers interested in Naval Radar engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the Naval undersea and Naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our Naval Radar engineers perform radar data analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. Your primary responsibilities will include being a team leader in overseeing technical work and ensuring project requirements are met with precision and accuracy. You will act as a team leader by reviewing work, and contributing to the development of innovative procedures, processes, and standards to enhance team performance. You will ensure systems are built, tested, and deployed seamlessly, while ensuring the team is meeting project objectives. Every day will present unique challenges requiring teamwork, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and innovative problem-solving. What You Will Do Serve as a trusted technical expert and key leader, supporting the team leader in managing daily operations and ensuring team effectiveness Support/develop key engineering activities, including underwater acoustics analysis, system requirements development, hardware/software integration, test plan creation, debugging, and system performance evaluation. Assist in overseeing technical work, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards. Overcome obstacles by proactively identifying potential roadblocks, negotiating changes to ensure project success, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve conflicts. Evaluate vendor contracts, procurement strategies, and operational efficiencies to optimize spending, while identifying financial needs for projects or operations to ensure alignment with overall strategy, and addressing variances between actual and planned spending through corrective actions. Travel, domestic, to support customer events, with an expected travel requirement not exceeding 15%. What You Will Learn After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) activities across the product development lifecycle. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management Value System). Experience with radar data analysis. Experience with MBSE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools. Qualifications We Prefer Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge as a subject matter expert in systems engineering or a closely related field, providing technical guidance and driving successful project outcomes. Experience with being able to break down complex problems, analyze data effectively, and identify actionable solutions, all while maintaining a sharp focus on details. Experience analyzing performance metrics and applying optimization techniques to enhance efficiency and functionality. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
