Job Title: Process Weld Engineer - RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE - worksite - Toledo, OH Job Description We are seeking a Process Weld Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize welding processes that ensure product quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency. This role supports production operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoots welding-related issues, and leads the implementation of new welding technologies and equipment. Responsibilities Develop and optimize welding processes, procedures, and process parameters for new and existing products. Support quoting activities through weld process development, equipment selection, and cost estimation. Specify, implement, and maintain welding equipment, tooling, and preventive maintenance programs. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Troubleshoot welding, process, and quality issues using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve product manufacturability and weld performance. Develop welding standards, work instructions, and training programs to support operational consistency. Evaluate and implement new welding technologies, automation, and process improvements. Support capital equipment projects, including justification, installation, and validation. Monitor process performance, investigate defects, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes, quality standards, and safety requirements. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to production teams. Essential Skills Proficiency in welding techniques such as resistance welding, MIG, TIG, and other welding processes. Strong understanding of engineering principles and blueprint reading. Experience with process improvement and troubleshooting. Familiarity with machining, robotics, and fabrication. Knowledge of metallurgy and production processes. Experience in project engineering and using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with developing and implementing welding standards and training programs. Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and support capital equipment projects. Proficiency in root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone. Work Environment The role is onsite, requiring hands-on engagement with production teams and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $81.00 - $106.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
