Eaton’s Power Distribution and Controls Assemblies business within the Electrical Sector is currently seeking Product Engineers to join our team. These positions can be based in one of our manufacturing locations in either Asheville, NC, Fayetteville, NC, Sumter, SC, Greenwood, SC, or El Paso, TX, and will offer relocation assistance. The Product Engineer (often internally referred to as a Custom Order Engineer or COE ) is primarily responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution or control product lines. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers and manufacturing associates, utilization of design automation software, and producing/maintaining manufacturing documentation. The expected annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 a year. What you’ll do: Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications. Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application. Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products. Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements. Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping. Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices. Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS). Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required. Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature. Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities. Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required. Analyze needs and recommend revisions to Department Policies and Procedures. Qualifications: Required Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date before July 2027. Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 (please don't round) Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
