Product Engineer - On-site San Francisco, CA

About the Role

Our start-up client is looking for a Product Engineer with 2+ years of experience to lead the development of our cutting-edge audio data products. You will be a key player in helping our customers make sense of the audio data they use to train their models. We need a product-focused, backend-leaning engineer with strong communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, research-oriented startup environment. You will work closely with our ML research team to iterate on how we collect and process data at an unprecedented scale.

What will you be doing?

• Lead full-stack feature development, with a 60-70% focus on the backend, to deliver daily innovations to users.
• Build and scale systems that process terabytes of audio data, deriving actionable insights for our customers.
• Collaborate closely with our ML research team to constantly improve how we collect and utilize data for training models.
• Deploy and evaluate LLM- and DSP-based solutions to enhance customer data understanding.
• Mentor other engineers and establish technical standards as our team grows.

Seniority

Very open to Staff Engineers (~6+ YOE)

2+ years of experience in full-​stack or product engineering,​ building production-​grade user experiences

Work experience

Experience in a high-​growth,​ VC-​backed startup environment.​

Built systems for large-​scale data processing

Experience with technical leadership or engineering management (must have for Staff Engineers)

Education

CS degree from U.​S university (top-​30 CS program)

Hard skills

Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.​

Experience with AI/ML or audio data.​

Soft skills

Strong communication for research and customer collaboration.​

Miscellaneous

Able to work 5 days a week on-​site in San Francisco.​

Demonstrated passion for the intensity of early-​stage startups.​
