Product Engineer (Software Engineer)

About the Role Join a growing consumer fintech company building mobile-first financial tools that help everyday users manage cash flow, access earned wages early, and build credit — all without interest or traditional credit checks. As a Product Engineer , you'll work end-to-end across the stack to ship features that have a direct, meaningful impact on users' financial wellbeing. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leaders in a fast-moving, startup environment. What You'll Do Build product features end-to-end — domain models, business logic, and API integrations — that make the product work seamlessly for consumers. Drive a data-driven, incremental release process toward bold product milestones. Use SQL and analytics tooling to evaluate product and system performance against robust data pipelines and infrastructure. Test and debug complex state machines in an event-driven, pub/sub-based backend to ensure a seamless user experience. Ship to production daily via a rapid CI/CD process, owning implementations end-to-end and responding to production incidents as needed. What We're Looking For Must-haves: Hands-on experience with Go (Golang) deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Direct consumer product experience — you've built products for end consumers, not exclusively B2B. Proficiency designing and consuming RESTful APIs , including authentication/authorization patterns and rate limiting. Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including data modeling and query optimization. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines , version control, automated testing, and code review processes. Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) for scalable data pipelines. Excellent cross-functional communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Preference for candidates with startup experience (Big Tech backgrounds also considered). Nice to have: Strong CS fundamentals. 2–9 years of overall software engineering experience. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $120,000 – $200,000 USD annually, depending on experience. Visa sponsorship available. Location This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, CA . Candidates must be willing to work from the San Francisco office.
