Are you passionate about process improvement within a customer product, manufacturing environment where you can implement your knowledge and understanding of lean philosophy and ECO implementation? Do you want to contribute in the continues improvement of our indoor cycling trainer production in Oegstgeest?


As a Production Engineer you are part of our Production Engineering department where you will be responsible for the set-up and improvement of indoor cycling trainer production in Oegstgeest. You implement your strong analytical abilities in order to examine our organization's operating procedures and make recommendations and improvements for the production and design of our products in order to increase quality and efficiency.


In practice this means you are translating this into mass production on the production floor: how and with what are we going to do it? This means you are involved in the creation of process instructions (SOP’s), factory floor layouts, PFMEA's, Control Plans, cost estimations and the development of all required tools and equipment to scale the prototype to mass production.


This includes detailed capacity analytics overview for all assembly/production stations and assembly lines. You will also be a resource for design for manufacturing inputs to our engineering teams.


Production Engineering department

As a Production Engineer you will become part of our Production Engineering team consisting of 3 other Production Engineers and 1 Process Engineer. You will work closely with various Design Engineering teams such as Mechanical, Electrical, (embedded) Software, Compliance, Quality. You also interact with Operational teams such as our Tool shop, Assembly, Injection Molding, Warehouse & Logistics, Supply Chain and HSE, to ensure the timely introduction of new products into the market.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Assigned to several new product in development projects, providing manufacturing cost estimates, design for manufacturing input and exploring the development of new processes or technologies to transform a prototype into a mass-producible product.
  • Develop complex process instructions, assembly flow charts, factory floor layouts, PFMEA and Control plans.
  • Calculate build times and analyze process for cost, labor and quality improvements.
  • You participate in continuous improvement meetings.
  • Participate in product design reviews and provide alternate solutions by applying design for manufacturability guidelines.


What do we expect from you?

  • You hold a Bachelor of Science in an engineering related discipline or Leidse Instrumentmakers School (LiS)
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and knowledge of 3D CAD design.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Preferably certified in Lean Six Sigma (green or black belt).
  • Understanding of Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementations.
  • Able to thoroughly work on documentation.
